To help students create an emotional response to the text.
Dropping-in a group consists of bringing the participants to a state
of relaxation, having them close their eyes, and then the teacher reads the speech and
asks students questions about the key words. The questions come from the story up to this
point, the scene or situation, the character, and the actor or class. The students repeat
the words from the speech, but they don't answer the questions. Closure consists of
bringing the students out of the state of relaxation and discussing/writing about the
