The voice work at the Institute was based on the work of Kristin Linklater and her text, Freeing the Natural Voice. The goal of the voice work is not to make "beautiful or loud sound, or some other minimizing adjective, but on revealing oneself through one's voice so that what the audience hears is the person revealing him- or herself, and not merely the sound of his/her voice."

I begin each class with a physical and vocal warm-up.
